The last couple of years I seem to remember the UC sale taking place by mid January but this year it seems a bit late which has led me to wonder if there will be one. I know that VS tend to follow BAs lead so on the face of it with BA needing to get in as much cash as possible you'd think it would happen soon wouldn't you? Or is this wishful thinking on my part?

I'm sat here waiting with my plastic guys so come on make my day.

We're ALL waiting. But, it seems VS and BA are reluctant this year, the snow chaos and other previous sales have either a) increased the need for high margin cash and b) filled a lot of seats.

Will they or won't they. I hope the former.

Previous recent threads have suggested that generous sale prices are unlikely in the immediate future.

Firstly, because of the massive amounts VS will have had to pay to passengers / airports / hotels for recent snow disruption.
Secondly - because BA aren't having a sale. [;)][:w]

Agree that we are well overdue though.

Depends on how well full price Z's are selling.

If BA starts CW sale though...

Perhaps VS are holding off in case they benefit from the proposed BA strike and have the opportunity to fill the seats without a sale?

Not sure BA will want to sell loads of cheap seats until their strike issues, are sorted.
