I am sure someone will know the answer to this, but I have looked around and can't find it.

I am in the 'lucky' position of having picked up 3 - yes 3 - 'G's to MCO on VS 27. I have upgraded from L's.

However, my son has decided that he would like a quick break from University so wants to come along - why could he have not said when I was booking !

As I do not believe he should travel a diffent part of the plane from us I have a choice:-
1) I can pay for a Z - not really an option as these are last minute flights around Easter and costing a fortune in cash and miles (we are having to come back in Y - B fares- via NY, flying up with JetBlue as nothing was available)

2) There is a G available on the next flight, but it means him travelling solo - not a problem as he has been to NY before by himself. We would just hang around at MCO getting the car etc. He has never done U/C before so I would like to experience it with him as a family.

3) The preferred choice. There are 4 [:0] 'G's available going the day before so we all travel together.

However, I have been told by VS that there would be a 90 pp amendment fee for the 3 original bookings to change dates.

Is this correct - I thought the G's were more flexible. I will bite the bullet if that is the case, but my eyes are starting to water at the cost of these flights when it was meant to be a quick 'cheer me up' visit !

Thanks

Its because you are on upgraded l's so there is a higher amendment fee for that class of fare than something bought outright with miles on a g...

Thanks for the quick response.

I was afraid that was the case.

Oh well, what is another 270 [:?]

Sorry to be a gloom merchant but it might be even worse.........

If you change before you have flown the outbound they might reprice the L fares. So if there has been a price rise since you booked you would have to pay that as well.

From website:
'.......before departure of the outbound journey for changes made prior to the departure of the scheduled flight - reprice using current fares'.

However, if this produces a lower fare don't expect a refund, only works to VS favour.

All re-booked.

270 worse off.

However - one good thing - they confirmed I had been overcharged by 25 pp when I originally went from a revenue ticket to a G.

All hopelessly confusing, but if I am getting 75 back......
