This time next week, i will be onboard my VS075 flight to Orlando. we have noticed that seats can't be pre booked until 24 hours before the flight and theres only 60% seats available. Now, i was just wondering are the 60% seats available usually any good or are they just the "rubbish" seats towards the back of the plane..?

Thanks

Seats can be pre-allocated before OLCI, but only 60% are available to do this, which is why you won't be able to select any currently.

At OLCI, the remaining the 40% then open up, apart from exit rows and bulkheads. There really isn't a rush or panic, but the earlier you do it, the better choice of seats you should have.

Hi there.

We are booked to fly to orlando on 11th June. very excited as this will be my first time flying Virgin. I have a similar question.

If I reserve my seats now, will I be able to change them if better seats become avaialble when they release the remaining 40% When online check in opens? Also do you have any idea what areas of seating they normally hold back, as only rows 50+ are available to suit us at the moment?

Thankyou

Hi Husky and welcome

Yes you will be able to change seats during OLCI.

husky1,

First part is easy - you can select now, and then when you do OLCI you will be able to re-select any available seat (the extra 40% will then be opened for you to choose). There is no harm at all you selecting a seat (although it isn't guaranteed due to operational issues, it is only a 'request')...

Hi husky and welcome to V-Flyer.

Yes, if there are other seats you prefer at OLCI stage, you have the option to change your allocation. Do remember though, that any current allocations are not a set in stone reserve, just a request, and if required, Virgin can change re-allocate.

Not sure which seats are in the 40% that are held back, from previous experience, it seems to be some of the front seats in the cabin, all the exit rows and bulkeads, and also any of the extra leg rooms seats, all of which can only be allocated at the airport.

Enjoy your flight.

A good few weeks ago when we looked about booking seats, ithe option wasn't available, so we will be doing it 24hours before the flight by OLCI

Make sure to press them for the reason.
It may be simply that someone else on the flight has the same name - but it may be Watch List thus a recurrent problem (but you can get redress for future flights)
