Hi,

I want to book two reward seats in PE for a return flight to either St Lucia or Antigua in December, but have never done this before and have no clue how to go about it.

Is it too late to do this now and is there ever any way of finding when these seats are available as someone told me that you can't just book them as a normal seat ?

If December is not possible, is there any way of guaranteeing to get the seats when I want them if I don't go until next year ?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Andy,

The easiest and quickest way to see if there are any reward available is to try a dummy booking on the VS site. To do this, go as if you were making a normal booking, but at the bottom, select "use miles" as the option.

This will either bring up details of the flights and costs, if the dates you want are available, if they aren't, then you should get a calendar showing other dates with available reward seats.

The other option, is to give VS a call, and speak to an agent, they will be able to look at all reward dates availability and advise you.

There are only so many reward seats available on each flight, just because there are PE available for sale with money, doesn't mean you can use miles to buy them.

If the dates you want aren't available for this year, then there isn't a way of guaranteeing them for next year. The best thing to do, to give yourself the best possibility of getting seats, is to try and book as soon as the flights are available (336 days from your return date), as with only limited numbers available on each flight/date, this will give you the widest availability.

Remember, you will still need to pay Taxes, etc even on reward seats (so they aren't completely free). Online Dumbing bookings are the way to see (you must be logged ibnto your FC account), or give VS a ring (have some flexible travel dates in mind), as there have been some recent issues with the website not being fully upto date.

y) I'd definitely count that as a result. Fond memories of taking a dip in the Caribbean on New Year's Day...
