A big pat on the back to the VS staff at IAD.
A colleague and I were booked to fly on the flight to LHR last Friday, and of course it was cancelled. The best our corporate travel agents could do was get us on a BA flight today in world traveller. Taking no chances, we checked in about 3 hours ahead of time.
But as we both have AU cards we thought we'd ask VS if they would allow us to use the Clubhouse (on the grounds that we were originally booked on VS, they couldn't accommodate us until next week, etc etc). Bit cheeky, I know.
Anyway, after politely explaining that the Clubhouse is only for VS passengers, and they don't allow in people who are using other airlines, the check-in supervisor and clubhouse manager said they would make an exception in this case so here we are enjoying some bubbly and cookies!
Early candidates for the employee awards, perhaps?
Commiserations to everyone else stuck out there somewhere, by the way. Hopefully we'll all be back home soon.
