They have chartered one of the VS a/c as a special. If it were me I would have hoped they were going on G-VWIN, but as that is due to do the VS23 this afternoon it won't be.

I agree Neil, I thought they would be on G-VWIN too. I think VS have missed a good press photo opportunity there...

Oh dear -a comedian in our midst :D . Much as I would love to be proved wrong I can see us exiting in the quarter finals. I do think Fabio has got it all wrong. Shame I'm going to be in Oz for the initial stages :(! .

G-VSKY 97 wrote:Being that the flight was a chater, will the crew and flight deck
grab a couple of days "down route" and dead head the plane back?

It operated back the next day as the VS983, so will have just been a positioning flight with no pax. The a/c G-VRED then operated the Lagos flight.

Whichever aircraft, will they be in the economy seats as rumour says happened to the French team? Middle seats of course, with a non functioning IFE and a small child in the row behind hired to kick the back of the seat throughout.

I imagine a small child can kick better than the football team.

G-VGAS is currently operating VS984 which looks to be the charter again.

Would imagine they will be up front.

The French decision was a great one, their players flew out on a brand new 380 and back on an all economy 737 that had to stop to refuel on the way back!!!!

apparently David Blaine is concerned his record of spending 44 days in a box doing nothing may have been broken by Wayne Rooney !!!

a little old lady is struggling to cross the road when Fabio capello drives up and stops. "can you manage madam" he inquires.

"what" she says " you **** it up and then expect a frail pensioner to get you out of the crap " ??

As all these posts indicate, the links with the England Football Team may now backfire on VS :?

Nothing "winning" about the association that was forged and the VS may now be regretting being the carrier of choice

It's only a game.

Nobody died, but the way some people act you'd think it was a national tragedy.

Am sure a few sponsorship deals might not get the players as much as they would have done had they had progressed but that just served them right.

I hope they are serving a nice humble pie on the way back

:) :)

Nonsense! I already hear that Rob Green is being lined up for a Specsavers advert, and Wayne Rooney is tipped to be heading to the bright lights of Hollywood to star in a re-make of Dodgeball.
