Hi All,
Its been a while since i have had the chance to fly with Virgin again, but we have had a stroke of luck.

My little girl has won us a holiday out to LA for a week, with the premiere of Toy Story 3 chucked in Whhohhooo, anyway enough gloating! If there are any other winners going on that day shout me, i know there was more than one!

My question is I have enough airmiles to get us on an upgrade from Steerage to PE, but checking the loads it looks rather full. Whats the best strategy for trying to get the upgrade? Keep checking the load checker on here? phone The FF club everyday, and or is it worth queuing at the customer services desk at LHR on the day.
I know this has been asked probably a 1000 times, but any advice greatly received!

thanks in advance

Firstly, Congratulations.

I would be very surprised if you were able to upgrade your *free*, competition won ticket with miles. If you could, then it would need to be booked in to one of the correct, upgradable economy fare codes (Y,B,L) and then there would need to be PE reward seat availability (U Class).

It might be different on the day, but again I would imagine it would be very doubtful.

Have a great trip

Cheers Neil,

Looks like outgoing is M? and return is Y, so out is a no go then?
Thanks for the prompt reply, much appreciated.

Might be ok for an airport upgrade. And if not, you may be able to pay (at the airport) to upgrade to an 'upgradeable' fare, then use miles. All depended on availability, of course.

Thanks Pete,
I will probably check out on the day at the desk, doesn't hurt, besides it will stop me wandering into the far too many shops they seem to have at LHR.

Cheers

I've never won so much as the tombola at the village fair. So unfair...

could be worse, could be a raffle prize of a used jigsaw puzzle with a couple of missing pieces. :w
