Why is it I keep getting the sorry page online once I find a flight is there a problem with the site or do we have to ring them now as a matter of course.

I brought this up a while ago on this forum but no one could answer me, its really annoying as it appears you can no longer spend miles online you have to call. :(

It's been broken a couple of months - there's seems no end to VS Web site problems ...

So yes, you'll have to call, which is majorly annoying especially for people who don't get access to the premier service team. I'd use the call back facility (if that still works!).

What I've found is that if I search for dates that are unavailable and then try to select alternative, available, ones through the calendar grid the next page will be the 'sorry page'. If, however, I then restart and use dates that I know are available it will go through to the booking page. Worked for my booking to SF in the autumn and whilst looking for NY early next year over the weekend.

Thanks for that daharris... that method does work! I hate being on the phone, let alone holding on the phone so anything that can allow me to book online is great!

The Dharris method worked for me yesterday, no problems at all.

Egg why not use the online chat if that comes up?

I have used the online chat a couple of times, but IMHO they don't know much more than most of the people who use this forum. Also, they can't actually make a booking for you.

That's interesting, never used it myself as I've always found what I wanted but assumed (wrongly) they could make a booking either there and then or calling you.

Could they tell Egg which dates are available though as he can't seem to find them online?

If I try a miles booking in Chrome, I get the sorry page. If I do it in Firefox it works fine. ?|

I think the online chat people may be able to check dates/availability, but perhaps someone else can confirm.

When I last had website problems - the site kept saying the flight I had selected was no longer available, I ended up calling the FC Au hotline to book the flights.

Cheers

Gee it sucks no luck on any computer, just two Gs to LAX or SFO or LAS or even the big apple is all I want first or second week June.

Egg you're a bit early, you can only book outward and return up until 6 June at the moment. Having said that I can find flights in Upper to NYC with no problems.

Like Jilly has said, you are a bit early at the minute EGG. Whilst seats are starting to be released now for your dates, reward seats do quite often take a few days before they start to show up, so your issue is more likely that there aren't any seats available yet, rather than a problem with the site.

Either keep checking or just give UC reservations a quick call and they will be able to check for you.

yes I use the same method as above - use the chooser to find what dates are available that suit you, then make a note of the specific dates you want, and do a new search in a new window for those specific dates. it works - you can go all the way through with the booking.

and yes, maybe this is a problem with Chrome more than other browsers - shame as its my default browser now, its SO fast...
