If you have left it this late to go on holiday and especially Dubai, you probably wouldnt be going let alone UC, bit of a pointless sale.

cheers

We did Dubai in August a few years ago, and slinky is right - it is hot. 8D

But, if you like it hot, it is a very dry heat and there are some hotel bargains to be had in August, as it is hardly their peak season.

Might be worth considering as a reasonably cheap way of picking up 10 Tier Points. :D

Its also Ramadan from 11th August to 9th Sept

The last few years I have been during Ramadan and got some really cheap deals on hotels too

I think the Iftar buffets are a huge reason to cash in on the sale fares to Dubai. With hotel rates at an all time low, loads of new flashy choice in the Dubai Mall area and iffy UK weather surely there must be some takers.

It's not that hard to deal with the heat, everywhere is -40oC with air conditioning and majority of pools chilled. Just remember to pack the factor 50 ....

I once made the the mistake of visiting Dubai during Ramadam and it was a real shame as when on holiday one does enjoy the odd pint which i couldnt have until after sundown anywhere, even in the hotels! plus when shopping at any mall or anywhere there is no where to buy even a bottle of water which is essential in the UAE at any time, plus the malls look like quiet with no atmosphere when all eateries are closed.
I have been back this year already because i love it but never again in Ramadam.

cheers

I'm guessing this was some time ago Alex?

Both Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates have sections for non-Muslims to eat and drink. The mjaority of hotels also have areas for eating and pool bar service continues (without the alcohol) during thr day. It's strongly advised you don't drink, eat or even chew gum outside these areas. Some hotels also serve alcohol after sunset, and of course you can still purchase your duty free on arrival, saving a fortune.

You will also find the shopping malls are open longer and later, which for some is a huge bonus.

There are lots of sales and offers during Ramadam. It is due to the belief that the good deeds done in Ramadam, receive extra blessings.

Shorterned working hours are also a plus.
