I am a bit confused about the baggage allowwance I have for a flight next week. I am travelling Y out and Premium Y back.
Flight out is LHR -> JNB with VAA then connecting (under the same booking - PNR?) with an SAA flight onwards to CPT. Return is direct from CPT to LHR so there is no problem (with the additional allowance as well).
From the VAA site I will have 23KG per person in Y (plus a golf bag). From the SAA site it looks like 20KG per person (plus the golf bag).
Would I be penalised on the connection for being over (this assumes having to go through immigratins and customs at JNB)?
It is not clear if I can check the bags directly through to CPT or would have to collect and re-check in for the SAA flight at JNB - I assume if the former then there would not be any problems. Any advice here would be welcome as well.
Thanks
Jon
