Watch out if travelling through T2 LAX. Checked in as normal for the 08 on Sat 30th Oct, and then stood in a one of 2 massive queues to get through the security checks at the bottom of the stairs before the xray machines.
Basiclly, the queues didn't move an inch as the area by the scanner was closed because of a security problem - note that there were no/few police/TSA around; it all literally got frozen for nearly 2 hours.
You can imagine the effect this had on departures. Security people at the xray machine area wouldn't say what had happened, but several did say this was likely to happen more often as of the events elsewhere in the world re security screening etc.
Would be worth trying to understand what other routes there are through into terminal 2 air-side (if any) other than that right next to the check-in area. Perhaps we should create a repository of useful info in the club-house area?
