I travel with VS on a regular basis and have the past 6 times made use of the Twilight check in facility at LGW.

Today, it was a total mess!! check in did not open until 1230 and then only 2 agents, no premium or upper check in available, everyone had to wait in the same line.

The check in agent was unable to crack a smile, was totally unhelpful and when I enquired about upgrading costs from Economy to Premium she had to shout across to the other agent to ask, her reply was I think its £339 each way per person.

My friend who was travelling in Economy is allowed 23kg of luggage, the scales showed 0.3kg before he placed his case on the belt, the final weight was 23.5kg, he was told to watch next time the weight as he should have been charged - what great service!

The upsetting part is he has never flowen VS and has for many years been a BA fan, I spent many hours selling the VS product to him, so far, needless to say he is not impressed!

None of the VS staff there had any idea where to get people to line up and spent 20 minutes opening and closing various barriers.

Complete mess and a very poor start to the trip.

Haha - glad you got it out of your system.

I do get affronted if a service I recommended turns out to be not so good - I recommended Virgin to my friends last year for their flight to Oz, they also flew this year and went, erm, BA. They did not have a good experience with Virgin (partly their fault for mucking up online check-in, but perception is reality and all that...)
