Earning tier points with US Airways/Spanair

OK, so I am about to get on a flight from MAD-PHL-BOS. Ticket has been booked with Spanair, but both flights are operated by US Airways.

I've looked at the Tier Points info on the VS site, but I'm still not clear exactly whether I will earn 2+1 tier points in Business (as it's US Airways). I'm hopeful, but severely doubting it, and I'm betting someone on here can set me right.

After my VS AU card was declined at check-in and I asked them to double-check, they found that they could enter a VS card number after all...let's see what happens

Does the flight earn you miles? As it's booked with Spanair, I'd doubt it.

If not earn miles, you don't earn tier points as detailed under 3.3.4 of the T&C's

As Darren said, if you did not book directly with US you will not earn miles or TP's, you can give it a shot, but your chances are slim to none.

Also, when it comes to getting miles credited to your VS account when flying on US, make sure you keep hold of your paperwork because you will be submitting a claim to get the miles credited.

Edit : Actually, this got me thinking, so I checked my VS account, yep I am missing miles for one US flight and two VX flights.

Within two weeks of the flights, both tier points and miles have actually shown up on my account :w
