Hi,

We've been chosen our seats (despite not having any choice prior....) Not happy with seats, will I be able to change once Online Checkin opens or not??

Certainly hope so, please tell me I will!

Only 60% of seats are available for pre-selection, the remaining 40% (apart from exit rows, bulkheads and extra leg room seats) should open at OLCI stage. However, if the flight is full, and a number of passengers have not managed to have any seats pre-assigned then the seat map may not be made available.

You can always ask at the airport on the day also.

Thanks,
Neil

Thanks Neil, just waiting for the flight to open on OLCI, strange how some other flights that flight later tomorrow has opened but not mine!!

If seats are crap will think about upgrading however UC isn't great when travelling with partner I hear...

Cheers

Though was a bit of a pain because of the layout...

Just checked in online and no choice on seat at all so forced to take what was given which I think is pretty bad. Called up and they said that 40% is held back by staff on the ground (i though was held back until OLCI!).

Don't know, though would be pretty painless however so far not great. Not sure UC is even worth it to go through the same lot again in not getting what seats you want etc..

Fingers x for tomorrow AM unless change mind before then and upgrade.

I completely agree; when travelling with a partner, the UCS is far from ideal and having to twist round to chat, often leaves me with a sore neck! v( Having a wall between you and your partner may be fine for others but it doesn't work for me...

Notwithstanding the above, the overall experience has kept my loyalty but with the gradual deterioration of the UC experience (i.e. removal of IFBT, badged as "more treatments available in the CH", yet now charging for treatments... How long before food and beverages will also be a cost-option??)

The things that made VS really stand out as innovative and special are slowly disappearing... :(

Hi Tinker!

LHR Config 4 me thinks, (one with economy on upper deck) changed yesterday as was config 3...

It's seats 33G, 33F which are ok but i really wanted the ones by the window.. UC looks ok so might give that a whirl but would hate to end up near the bar. Was just annoyed that was there to check in moment openend and no choice! ;) Find it hard to beleive fully booked or that everyone was on at check in time to grab seats because didnt even get a choice so that has annoyed me ?|

Thanks!

Thanks for that, it seems that it was I'm hearing which is a great shame.. MAybe some new planes to give Virgin the impetus they need... Strange isn't it because it seats with next to each other would have done it in a flash as would like to enjoy the experience with the gf and not on my own!

:? MrsPJH and I have found our UC experiences to be fine in this regard, but possibly because we both like to get settled into a book / film / snooze. We do make a point of dining together though.

Personally I find the UCS fine for traveling with a partner, easy to talk to each other, easy to both look out windows when pointing things out and if you need to talk face to face, sitting on ottoman is easy enough. Also being able to dine together is great.

Agreed it is NOT :(! .

I would, and do, fly either BA Club World or BA First when with my sister or significant other. When flying homo alono (mainly for business this year) or with a group of friends then Upper Class gets my vote as it is more social (as opposed to initmate :w )

Strange, I find BA F very personal and more cocooned from others, thus harder to interact with anyone else.

But I think you need to make own opinion of seats as everyone picks up on different things differently.

33FG are not bad seats but I can completely understand why you want the two by the window - I definitely know I would. If you get to check in early enough then ask for either 28AC by the exit or 29HK on the bulkhead.
