Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone has flown from the new T3 in Delhi with VS yet. Do you know what lounge UC/Gold Card pax get to use? And what's it like?

The VS website still says Clipper lounge but from what I can gather that relates to T1 and there isn't a Clipper lounge in T3 yet

Thanks

Hi - I was there in August. You go through security and up the escalator opposite (by the window). The lounge is pretty open and used by various airlines I think. It's not massive, but reasonably comfortable with TVs and computers.

I was there in the morning and there were hot and cold drinks and some basic breakfast, but nothing particularly memorable. There was wifi, but I remember having problems logging on: I think you had to have a local telephone number (which one of the staff can assist with). They might have fixed that now anyway.

The new terminal is pretty clean and spacious, with plenty of shopping. It was noisy when I was there, but they were still finishing the building/decorating then. Hopefully that's all done now...

Enjoy Delhi!

Hi Tinkerbelle, thanks for the link- its useful to know the name too as there may be more reports out there from fliers on other airlines :)

Bearded flyer- thanks for letting me know your experience, I flew through there in Oct and it was pretty noisy then too! I've spent the last couple of months volunteering in Nepal so the fact there is any sort of breakfast available there that doesn't consist of rice, lentils and curried veg will be a treat for me :D Good to know the staff can help with the wifi too.

Paul- I think you and I will be passing through at about the same time! My flight is on 23rd Jan! In terms of arriving at T3 in Delhi my experience was excellent.

I was one of the first off the plane, The walk from the bridge to the immigration seemed quite long, but when I arrived the queues were minimal (contrary to everything I expected about Indian immigration). There is a first/business queue but they didn't check to see if you were in F/J- just like every time in Delhi. Then through to the luggage collection- It took about 10 mins for the luggage to come through and upper class tagged bags were off first. All in all probably 20 mins door to door.

Once you exit customs, you go into the calm arrivals area- there are taxi booths inside here where you can book taxis. I didn't have CDC as was flying on a reward upgrade so don't know where you'd get them from. Some drivers were inside with signs but others were outside- I found my guy outside (from the Intercontinental). If you don't have a car booked then I don't think you need to worry about touts trying to grab you- the arrivals area is a good place to take stock and decide what to do.

As Bearded flyer says, the terminal is clean and spacious and I was overall very impressed.

Also, forgot to mention, the Virgin staff at T3 seemed really nice too. The day after landing, I was back at T3 to check in to my Kingfisher flight to KTM- I'd managed to lose my pen, and the lady at Virgin's UC check-in very kindly lent me her pen to fill out the immigration form, without me having to show my Gold Card (as I had planned to do!) or a boarding pass.
