OLCI on iPhone. Still designate a seat?

When booking my flights through the VA website, I requested seats 4K & 5K for our impending trip to NY (JFK) on 29th Dec. However it looks like I will be mobile when the T-24hrs strikes the day before. I know I can check-in through the VA App on my iPhone, however what about my seat allocations? Does the fact I'm checking in guarantee them, or do I have to re-request them? ?|

Your original seat requests should still be honoured, so in theory it shouldn't be an issue.

I am not 100% sure if you can view the seat map to change your existing allocation though. The only problem might come if for some reason at OLCI the system decides to put you in different seats and then you can't change them.
