Hi guys and Happy New Year to you all.

We have two bookings for 2011, MAN to MCO in April and Aug. We are flying out on the new planes so no UC but I am wondering why there is no option in 'My booking' to upgrade the return flights from PE to UC? Would love to be able to check regularly to keep an eye on the money involved!!!

Could anyone let me have the correct phone number to call? One flight was booked M&M if that make any difference.

Many thanks.

Ali :)

As has previously been mentioned, the first 330 deliveries to VS will be without UC. The speculation is that a new UC suite has to be approved.

Therefore it might just be that VS is still hedging it's position for the moment

There are two things to check regularly, and they can be checked online. One is the cheapest price for a UC ticket - failing G availability the cost of an upgrade is simply the difference in price between original and new tickets, plus any change fees VS might levy. If you called and asked what it would cost to "upgrade" to UC, that is what you would be quoted failing any of the "special offers" one sometimes might see. Whenever I would see the PE --> UC upsell, it was always based on this price difference.

You can also do dummy reward bookings and look for upgrade space. If there is lots available on a given flight, and UC is going out not too full, then you might be able to do something more creative. On MCO, this is highly doubtful given the size of the UC cabin. M&M would be a problem, IIRC it will be booked in a non-upgradeable fare class and folks would likely insist you re-fare before day of departure.

At the airport, anything goes, but I can't imagine you would usually find the kind of empty UC space from MCO that you might with an LHR aircraft.
