Seems to be many instances where boarding with the little seat kickers, no kids packs are offered. Especially on non-MCO routes..
VS's offical line (response after writing in)is you are offered an exciting interactive ikids pack instead of gaining the miles for a childs seat.. sounds like a fair deal to me.. v(

My personal experience has shown, we have never be offered them on the following return trips:
LHR-SYD UC
HKG UC
CPT PE
EWR Y

:w

Interested to hear from other parents experiences..

Last time I flew with my younger cousins to ANU, we had to ask (2009).

They were offered on my MIA flight last year, but there were only about 5 kids on the entire flight!!

They normally get handed out just as you go through into the gate, not on the plane. Usually a pile of them behind the desk, although sometimes it's easy for them to forget with the stress of a long queue building up.

I'm told that the packs are only for outbound flights from the UK too.

I will try and update this thread on Monday evening - we fly out to DXB from LHR with our nearly 3 year old. Fingers crossed he gets one this time! He was very disappointed last time, but fortunately I always carry stuff for him in case of things like this.

Asked at the gate - none available, despite having a childrens meal booked for him. None were offered on the plane either. Fortunately he fell asleep in the clubhouse.

None offered on the flight back yesterday either. Ended up having a chat with a senior crew member, mentioned that the kids packs were supposed to be in lieu of miles, and was offered 3000 miles on my FC account and she was also going to pass on concerns to the customer care team. Not hugely impressed with the service for families in UC or indeed on the routes we have flown on (LGW-ANU and LHR-DXB) - yes, they made a fuss of our son, but this was the third set of flights where there was no kids pack available, and the third set of flights where we had to remind them that whichever one of us was sat with our son during the meal service did actually want feeding too... more on this when I get round to writing up trip reports in a few days....

And fair play to you, heck 3000 miles, for a UC child seat, thats 2000 more than if you'd put your pet in the hold. n(

This poll should of concentrated on LHR flights to get a fair representation..To be fair though CC have always been top notch with mini, and I know there must be silent groans when ankle bitters arrive in the various cabins..

Of the 8 return flights I've done with my family on VS since 2008, we've had 3 kids packs - and 2 of those had to be asked for.

My daughter couldn't care less now, how many of those bags does she need, and we always bring books, notepaper, pencils, pens and such like anyway.

And, more than half of those flights have been to MCO return.

If this is a substitute for miles - they can keep it, I'd rather the miles, and my daughter (8) probably would as well if it meant she got more upgraded flights!

The CC are generally nice to her, and make a good effort - part of the reason I choose VS.

Am flying out of LHR soon - let's see what happens!!!

Kids packs - nah! Give me the miles and a household account (ooops, hush my mouth!) :d
