I'm flying to Miami next month and looking at the seat map at the moment am out on a 343 for the first time ever. Lack of V-Port isn't an issue if I don't have it, but I've got the bums rush of choice in seats. 9A by the bar, 1D or 14A in the smaller second cabin.

I'm trying to decide between them. I see reports of traffic by the galley in 14A and disadvantages of being by the bar in 9A but it sounds like the cabin has an airier feel there.

I'm in 9A at the moment because I figure I won't hear much noise with my ear buds and iPod playing. Any thoughts appreciated. I'm travelling alone.

Thanks.

1D will be the quietest.
9A and 14A will both hear noise from the galley and yes there will be more traffic as the person who looks after the PE section also works out of this galley so will be going to and fro.
9A will hear noise from the bar if it is occupied.
Personally I would prefer 1D but to be honest on a day flight unless you intend to sleep then it really doesn't matter as once settled in your pod if you're watching a movie you dont notice much else.
And you never know you may get G-VSUN and have V-Port :)

Don't forget some seats will open up at OLCI so do that ASAP and you may find something better.

What's wrong with 1D?

Though, it's a day flight, so I'd just plop down at the bar stool. :P

1D = in the middle in a zone with a facing seat - no window, no vents.

Phil - I would have 9A in a shot, only one person next to you and yes the bar is near but tangental, and as you say, if you have NC headphones you don't really notice. Also, it's on the non-sunny side as you scoot down the coast of the US.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to follow slinky's advice and stick with 9A and then as tontybear says have a look at OLCI and see if there is anything else. 9A looks fine. I don't fancy not having a window and the lack of a vent would be a real issue I hadn't thought of. One of the TRs mentioned that at least one of the 343s isn't set up as it is on the seat map and on some aircraft 1D faces the loo. Not sure if that is true or not, but with the replies here I'm happy with the choice I've made. Thanks a bunch!
