I have been looking through some if the TRs from VS First, with some saying they prefer row 1, others saying 2.

But I haven't seen much explanation as to why one is preferred other the other.

Could anyone with experience of VX First give their opinion on row 1 or 2 and how they differ?

Many thanks,
Hamster

Not flown in F on VX, but IIRC I recall reading that people tend to prefer row 2 because then they don't feel bad about fully reclining (as there is a fixed cabin divider behind row 2).

Exactly, for me row 2 had more legroom, but either row is a nice place to spend a few hours.

I like row 1 (I don't like people in front of me :) ). Row 2 has slightly more leg room but as I'm a short a**e it's not a problem for me (DL the Elder and the stepfather were more than happy there though :D ).
Seeing as the DL clan took up 6 of the 8 seats in F we all had a good time 8D 8D .

I'm with Dear Lady Dragon on row 1, in that I don't like people reclining into my space, especially since I'm frequently working on a laptop.

Here's my summary:

- the way legroom is measured they're the same
- but in row two you get to place your feet under the seat in front, which creates more room, whereas in row 1 there's a hard divider in front of you
- in row 2 you can recline with seeming impunity, which I think you can also do in row 1, but this is a 'mental' thing :D

Either row is fantastic though.

Thanks everyone. Sounds to me that row 1 would be best for me, not being that tall, my partner will just have to suffer :-p. Though I might be nice on the longer flight.

I'm another one for row 1 seating on these sorts of planes for similar reasons to Slinky (def better with a laptop in a FC seat). But I found myself in a rear row Saturday in F on another airline (same difference, really) and found myself sleeping, and must confess that the extra legroom under the seat can be nice in these cases. I'd still pick 1 most times (this was a request for a swap that I was fine with), but the extra space can sometimes be of comfort. If I were on a red eye I might actually consider a row further back.

They tend toward turkey club sandwiches, salads, cheese plates and the like. All very good quality but actually, IMO the only slight letdown of the flight.

Don't forget that in First you can also order anything frothe coach menu - but on my flits I haven't found it on the IFe and have had to ask.

Drinks are good and plentiful. The fellow pax are often great too.

Yeah, the IFE screens in First won't show the ordering options etc. on all flights, so you have to ask!
