Load Check & Advice Please

Hey Folks,

I'm flying LHR - LAX on VS7 7th June in PE - Unfortunately only in K.

I'm wondering what the likelihood of being able to part with some cash or some miles, or even both would be at check-in to get an upgrade to UC. I'm guessing the number of free seats in UC comes into this equation somewhere along the line, if it's pretty empty why not charge somebody to upgrade (at least thats my logic). So thats where the load check comes in if somebody would be so kind.

VS generally don't let you upgrade from a K to a G fare unless you pay the cash difference to an S first ,although sometimes they will if the W cabin is oversold and they're looking to make some cabin moves anyway( which doesn't look likely at the moment).
It never hurts to ask at the airport though .
