I never learn do I ? Two seats reward seats appeared on the earlier LA flight on my travel date in October (which would be much better for me). I was really busy so didn't ring the Au line straight away thinking they'd still be there this morning.
Today the website is down (again) and followig a callback from the Au line one of the seats has gone.
I know we've discussed this at length before but it really is a case of he who hesitates is lost.
Now, do I just sit tight and hope another seat gets released (I did ask if revenue would be relaesing any more to which the answer was "don't know") or bite the bullet and base my plans on the later flight (I'm heading to Vegas as first port of call) ?| ?

I too have done this in the past, seen a great flight or holiday and hesitated over it and ended up loosing the flight or paying a lot more. I tend to book straight away now if I see something I like. Are your plans flexible enough to wait to see if the earlier flights become available again?

Keep checking DL ! The exact same thing happened to me the other day, I've been checking for some time now for G availability from ANU to LGW in late August, finally something came up last week, decided to book it the next morning, and just like that it was gone again. Thankfully it re-appeared a few days later and I snapped it up.

I think there has been a lot of price tweaking recently. I've been keeping my eye on flight & upgrade prices on the web over the past few weeks and often things have been changing daily.

For our LA flights last December, I booked the tickets individually and when they became available (6-8 weeks apart). A risk, but it paid off. The later flights (VS22/23) usually has more availability if it helps.

Good luck

I'm trying to book 2 UC reward returns to SYD sometime next year. I'm really flexible on dates, but even so it is very hard to get 2 G's together on all 4 legs. I'm considering doing what you did JP, either booking one and trying for the second later or booking one UC and one PE and upgrading it if and when a G becomes available.

Has anyone else gambled like this before? Successfully?

Thanks

Good luck

It's the VS23 and 24 to/from LAX. The VS22 does the IAD-LHR route |:)

Thanks HL - I was almost correct.

Martin - if its any help, I am looking at G's for HKG - SYD in December and don't see any problems in booking. Getting any reward on the LHR - HKG, in my opinion has always been difficult. I used ANZ last time (LHR - HKG), best PE experience we have ever had.
