Good Day,

I'm booked for a flight (oct 15) from San Francisco to Windhoek Namibia SFO-LHR-JNB on Virgin and the leg from JNB to Windhoek on BA (same ticket issued through VA phone rep).

Although a follow up to the phone rep confirms the booking is in order, I cannot pull up the flight online.

This is not a problem unless I won't be able to check in online. Anyone else encountered this? If so, how did it play out?

Thanks,

Anton

Do you have a middle name?

Sometimes the airline IT systems merge first and middle names so John Simon becomes Johnsimon and needs to be entered like that.

Have you got your 6 letter alpha-numeric PNR to use in the Manage my Booking page? That usually gets released one the flight has been ticketed and the delay might be in the JNB-Winhoek leg. It may be available in a couple of days time.

I had the same problem with a booking AMS/LHR//JNB but it appeared under "my future flights"after a few days ......I presume you have an FC account and have registered it against the booking?

Yet my AMS-LHR-JNB appeared immediately - in fact quicker than when I have booked directly with VS - especially when calling rather than an on-line booking.

Good Day,

I booked this flight over a month ago. While on the phone with the Virgin rep they went online and entered the info. They could not pull it up. Their response, "Hmm, that's weird".

They guessed it's the BA leg that's gumming it up and told be to keep checking.

Assuming that I have to check in at the airport brings my real concern which is seat assignment.

Right now I have a window and aisle in PE assigned. As PE is a bit of a splurge for us, I'd be disappointed to end up in a shared row.

I'm aware there are never guarantees, but if I make check-in 2+ hours before flight time am I as likely to retain the seat assignment as if I checked in online 24 hours in advance?

Thanks for the responses..
