Just managed to secure 2 x UC return reward flights to JFK in September. Booked via Premier Line, to start with could not get exact flights times wanted but was pleased that VS were prepared to hold option available to me for 48 hours. When I called last night to confirm booking I was delighted that the exact flight times we wanted had become available. Two UC returns for £800 {taxes & charges} makes the loyalty to VS and VS amex worthwhile. We are making trip to see Andrea Bocelli concert in Central Park so all set for a great trip. Just have to sort out hotel now, have stayed at many hotels in NYC but as always keen to try somewhere different we are thinking of The Elysee, anyone had any experiance of this hotel ?

Well done on the reward booking. I have had success myself recently and the key is usually flexibility - so great news that you got your exact dates. It also says something about LHR-JFK/EWR routes with the 5 flights per day.

I have not stayed at the Elysee, but it is rated highly on Tripadvisor.

Cheers

I've never had problems securing G's, as has been said so long as you're reasonably flexible and book on the 11 month threshold, no problem at all. I recently bagged 4 G's for a West Coast trip next May, on our first choice of flights & dates :-)
