Not sure where to put this one, but thought it might make all of you experienced VFlyers smile, so thought I should share.
I did the Virgin Flying Without Fear course in January, and meant to share at the time our experience in the Security queue. Now, bear in mind that there were some 130 terrified flyers in the queue all together, and that just about none of us had flown for many years due to various degrees of our phobia, and many had never flown at all :0 . We had been told by the VS staff on the course that no fluids in containers over 100ml were allowed (we'd left those back at the course hotel), but that smaller ones were OK if they were in a clear bag. As we got near to the top of the queue, one nice lady piped up that she had brought a big clear bag with her, and would anyone like to share hers? She pulled a MASSIVE clear binliner out of her bag, and - being none the wiser - multitudes of us in the queue thought this was very kind of her, and duly tipped all of our lip gloss/antibac hand gel/moisturiser etc etc. into her bin liner. She ended up with this huge sack that she was dragging along the ground as we reached Security, with all of us beaming with pleasure at our ingenuity in pooling our resources
.
Just before we set all the alarms in the airport off, some of the VS crew who were accompanying us caught up with us and (while trying not to look like they were tearful with mirth) explained the rules about SMALL clear bags
. We were held back while we all took our own containers back from the huge binliner (took a while to sort out whose was whose!) and repackaged them into small bags, all to the soundtrack of hysterical VS crew. Really took the edge off our nerves!
