Seat Reservations / Requests

Reading thrrough this forum has given me a bit of a worry. We have booked to go to Jamaica on VS065 in January, they have "reserved" some reasonable PE seats in the bubble. I was very pleased with them, I am now reading on here that these seats are not reserved! How often do you lose the seats you have booked? Many Thanks...

You are right to say they are not reserved. They are requested. They can be changed because of an aircraft change if it is a different configuration from the originally scheduled plane and recently a glitch in the VS system caused all the PE seat requests to be wiped out.

The best advice we can give is to check from time to time to ensure that the request is still there and to do OLCI as soon as possible after it opens and certainly no less than 13 hours before the scheduled departure time

I don't think I can check as I booked with a travel agent... Or can I ? I tried with my e ticket ref but it didn't accept it. The TA told me that is because I have only paid deposit! Do virgin swap seats around regularly or is it an exception. Many thanks for your help...

Once you have paid the fare and get a 6 figure alpha-numeric number you should be able to check but generally speaking, requests usually don't change in the run up to the flight
