Evening peeps,

Looking to book our next flight across the pond to hopefully sunny Florida -( seems an age since we were last there but was only April )

Anyways, looking at flying our 29th and have 2 options, the 015 or the 049

Now the 049 looks very empty at the moment, infact no seats booked in Upper, nothing in Premium and only 27 booked in Economy.

I realise that there may be more seats sold than showing on expertflyer, but whats the chances of this flight going or do you think it will be merged with the 015?

Does anyone know what the 049 becomes on its return then I could check the return flight ?

For some reason the 049 has always been a lucky flight for us and resulted in some fantastic holidays - strange but true - and thats the reason for looking at that flight.

many thanks for your replies

The VS50 is the return at 20:15.

I suppose we won't know of any merges until closer to the date, it would suprise me for August to see a flight merged!

well the 15 normally become the 16 and the 49 would become the 50 but I know they sometimes do an aircraft swap at MCO where an inbound from MAN goes back to LGW and vice versa but that dosent affect the flight numbers only the operating plane.

As go whether they consolidate the flights will come down to numbers on the 15. In anycase with it still being hgh season they will more than likely have to send a plane out to bring returning pax.

I'd book your 'lucky' 49 and even if they do consolidate you will be leaving 30 mins earlier. In anycase you might just be the extra pax they need for them to not consolidate !

Thanks for replies

All 3 flights back into LGW are rammed and the one back into MAN is pretty full to bursting, so looks like everything will be going out.

Could be an interesting flight ;) with not only upper empty this time but most of the plane empty as well.

In that case - if the 15 and 49 are as empty as you say they are - they might move pax to the 15 from the 49 and send the 49 out empty

Can't see them doing that. When we flew on the 73 out of MAN once there was only 60 pax on the whole 747, but it still went because the inbound was full.

That has happened to us before recently too here VS sent out the aircraft we should have been on from LGW empty and we were moved to one from MAN (we were in UC)

It would all come down to the numbers and the flight(s) running that day. Of course if other outbound flights are full they would then have to run your flight with a smaller number of pax on.

I still said they would send the 49 out empty to bring the screaming hoards back !
