Hi, I haven't earned my VS Amex Premium Economy Reward Upgrade, but if I book economy reward flights now to travel in June, and I earn the upgrade voucher in the meantime, can I apply them later (subject to availability obviously) - i.e. can it be applied after the initial booking or does the booking/upgrade have to be done at the same time?

Thanks, T

The risk is that when you get the voucher there may not be any reward seats in PE on the dates on which you have made the economy booking

There really isn't any benefit to you doing it the way you suggest. Not only do you run the risk of there not being PE reward seats on the same day, as HL has stated, but when using the vouchers there doesn't need to be Y reward availability just PE. So by doing it the way you suggest, all you are doing is booking some seats for the sake of it, you would be better waiting until you earn your voucher, then seeing what PE reward seats are available.

Trying to lock in the 30K sale fares in Y, and don't have the PE voucher yet. I know there's a risk that there won't be any PE availability when I come to convert the seats, but I'd rather take that risk than see the economy fare go from 30K to 50K?

That's a risk only you can decide if you want to take. I guess you have to ask yourself, if PE seats aren't available when you get the vouchers, would you happy flying Y, and if so, was it a good use of your miles.

Yes and yes - the 30K seems to save a few hundred pounds per person.

£10K spend in a year on the white card
£5K spend in a year on the black card

I think you get the electronic voucher on your anniversary, rather than after the spend, but am not 100% on that. It appears in your FC account.

Details here.
