chances of using miles to upgrade to UC on an X ticket VS201

I am knackered flew out Tuesday night LHR-HK and flying back tonight. Had to book a F+H ticket through expedia to even get an economy seat at £1000! Currently in the lounge trying to muster the energy to try and upgrade using miles from EC to UC on an X ticket. What do you think my chances are???? Could do with a sleep....

Unless they need to move people because the flight is full, I would say unlikely, but won't hurt to ask.

When the girl at the desk in the lounge is wearing a SARS mask you kind of feel it isn't your day. Question asked and a muffled reply and shake of the head told the story. Anyway lounge has made a 5 hour layover more tolerable.....

At least you tried. I have to say that whenever I have asked about upgrading an X, the answer has always been no .... unless you are prepared to pay the cash to make it into an L.

Enjoy the flight - I'd grab £50 worth of exit row in your position. At least you can stretch out and sleep a bit.

There is zero chance unless you pay up to a higher fare. However if you did to book with VS directly this will be harder.
