So, I'm aware no PE seats pre-bookable between April and 1st September next year due to the refit.

In theory then, as soon as flights become bookable for 1st September 2012 onwards, we should know what the config will look like....so in a months time roughly?? Or have I got that wrong?

Looking to book for next September to CUN, so I have a vested interest in this..

I'm not so sure it will work like that, but you may be right.

The seat map is actualy available for our PE flights next May, with the current config, so it seems they have lifted the block.

We are flying out on the 5th May on the VS73 and I just logged in the other day and the seat map was available. Another VF flying in April also could select their seats.

Hi Neil, maybe it it because your flying from Manchester to Orlando,i think the refit is only affecting the LGW 747 PE fleet?? ?|

Well perhaps you might be on a refitted plane then!

It's an issue though (to some, anyway) if we think the PE in the bubble might be re-fitted out - isn't it?

Or, do we simply not know yet...

All the indications/rumors are suggesting that PE all stay in the bubble, but will also be increased downstairs to include the small Y section that is currently behind the downstairs PE cabin currently.

Nothing has been confirmed so it is all just hear say.

It's all a secret at the moment so doubt it will be revealed until the first a/c goes in for it's refit in march ready to fly at beginning of april. I doubt the config will be the same as LHR 744s though as only need a small J Cabin.

The more interesting question for me is, will the "new" Upper Class be fitted to the Gatwick fleet at the same time as these refits?

Knowing VS as we do, the answer won't be straight forward although you would think it would be

Imagine all the mumps coming from a certain group of flyers ;) ;)

I would think that's an almost certain yes. The new UC is supposed to be ready for the next tranche of 5 A330s arriving from April, cunning timing therefore that the 744 refit also completes its first ac for April. Within a very short period of time (6 months) nearly half of the fleet will have the brand new interiors (assumes the A343s go at the end of 2012).

The first 747 goes in on 16th April for refit and that is G-VROM. The last goes in mid October (G-VXLG).

I believe the first 330 with new UPPER arrives in March.

if thats true about the first 330 with new upper class in march, will that just be on the LHR routes? As ive booked for MAN to MCO next august (on an the vs075 which is an A330 if i remember correctly) and all that was available was Economy and PE.

I believe the 2 x Y/PE 330's will not be refitted next year and will stay at LGW/MAN while the 744 refits are done. Once the refits are done I presume they will then refit the 2 x 330's.
