Changing to VS201 1st Oct from VS251

Good Morning, I am originally due to fly back PVG-LHR on the 30th Oct PE. However circumstances mean I have to go to a meeting in Shenzhen on the 1st Nov.

Rather than fly back to PVG and change my flight back out of PVG on the 2nd I was hoping to change to HK-LHR on the evening of the 1st Nov.

Availability was showing last week but now online it says no flight availability. Can anyone check the loading?

With regard to changing also advice required - I received an email from VS confirming the departure timr of my original flight on 30/10 has changed from 1040hrs to 1125hrs - if I now change the flight from 29/10 to 1/11 out of HK or 2/111 out of PVG might I be able to get out of the cost of changing under airline change rules after ticketing? Will it make any difference if I change to flying out of HK instead of PVG?

Paul I can't help on your specific queries however I do know that LHR-PVG HKG-LHR is an acceptable open jaw routing on VS. I'm going to hazard a guess that the minor change in departure time gives you no standing to change.

If the VS booking engine says 'no flights available' that generally means that particular cabin is full so VS won't sell more tickets.

You can join http://www.flightstats.com for free and do as many load checks as youe heart desires. I just checked and there is no availabilty in PE for the HKG-LHR on the 1st

As to the change on your return - I don't think you can ask to be exempted from the change fees for moving your flight from PVG to HKG as well as a date change.

Airline flight time changes have different rules from customer initiated changes and in the scheme of things an hours change is regarded as minor. Changing airports is deffo a customer initiated change.

Thanks for all your help - currently sitting in the lounge in HK after 2 flight change payments and a lot of no availability/1 seat availability conversations via the china office. HK team finally sorted it out - pity I'm in the middle of three in PE though but glad to be getting home.
