Boston flights

Hello,

Due to fly on VS11/VS12 soonish and have few questions. On VS 11, which seat is best for disembarkment? Will they use both doors on arrival or just L2?

Is immegration straight after arrival or is there a shuttle, like IAD as an example?

Lastly, on my return, on VS12, how does one avoid, being in the snooze zone? Woudl like to at least to enjoy some food and a drink or two before a few hours rest.

Not sure about your other questions, but there is no shuttle at BOS like there is at IAD, just a walk to immigration, unless things have changed dramatically in the last 12 months.

When you go on to the My Booking page on the VS website and click on the View or Change Seats link for the VS12, the snooze zone seats will show up with a red and white stripe on them. On the A346 it is rows 1-4 and on the 747 it is in the upper deck

And on a A343 the snooze zone is Rows 14-16.
There is no shuttle bus at BOS, its about a 5 minute walk to immigration. I have done VS011 and VS012 quite a few times now and the quickest I have gone from plane to landside is 30 mins.
Only L2 is used.

I flew on VS11 in August, (TR Here) it was a 346 with disembarkation only through L2. If you want to get off first best to choose seats in 14-17A or K ranges. Although we were in 4 & 5K so nearly the last UC pax off, but still through immigration, bag collection and customs in 20 minutes.

Arriving at Logan (which not unusually involves a tour or two up or down the north/south coast while waiting for a berth) is fairly straightforward. VS always Terminal E (international) which means disembarking is from the door between PE and UC. UC (and the upper deck on 747) have priority so for fastest exit you might choose a seat near the bar if in UC or as forward as you can get in PE or Y left side.
You exit directly to immigration which is fairly efficient (US residents to the left/all others to the right) and then to baggage which, as VS is a late arriving flight, is usually pretty quick. Customs requires your completed card presented to the officials (and woah to anyone who drops/loses theirs) and then straight through to arrivals. Public transport is busses straight ahead out doors through the first drive, cabs are to the left out side doors where there is a queue and private parking is either dead ahead at TE, central parking to the left via TC or economy which is via bus straight ahead. Hire cars runs shuttles straight ahead. Look for the bus that takes you to the Blue Line to get the T into the city. Toilets are to the right as you exit into arrivals. Cashpoints are to the left. If you are catching a connection you can walk to most terminals or take the bus.

The snooze zone is, as other posters have remarked at the very front of the plane. The party seats are by the bar and while convenient for disembarking, not terribly restful. If you do get assigned a snooze seat you can always dine at the bar.

If you hire a cab be sure you know exactly where your destination is (street address and general direction) as your cabbie may not. There are significant cab toll costs as you head through the tunnels to downtown and note that there is a ferry as well which takes you the aquarium where you can either take public transport farther on or stay in the North End.
