Starting a redemption booking from EDI

Hello,

I was looking at doing a one-way redemption booking on VS but would be starting my journey from EDI. Is it possible to do EDI-LHR-SFO on a miles booking?

I would do it with BD miles normally but you cannot do a one way journey on VS using BD miles so thought I would use my VS miles. I'm not wanting to book on seperate tickets though as I've no protection in the event of EDI-LHR being cancelled or delayed and BD won't through check my bags if on a different PNR.

Any advice? The VS website is a bit lacking on this topic.

I tried a dummy booking and it was ok to choose EDI/SFO one way but that changed once I selected the 'spend miles' button - it reverted to LON/NYC and EDI dissapeared from the frop down box.
