Hi team

I've just had a call completely out of the blue from the Virgin Flying club. I have been informed that for 40,000 flying club miles your can upgrade from PE to UpperClass for a return trip or 20,000 one way (applies on all routes except Aus)
The number I have been given to call to arrange this is 0870 380 2007
Has any one else been contacted direct as I have tonight with this offer? In the greater scheme of things is this really such a good offer?

Still awaiting a reply from Customer services re my last MCO trip out, no results yet

This is the standard upgrade mileage - so no special offer (I'm sure I'm correct on that, but others will put us straight if I'm wrong.)

I haven't been contacted, but it sounds like they may just be trying to "drum up trade"...

Is it a good offer? I believe it's good value when you consider the price of a UC ticket...the upgrade prices from PE to UC are usually £500 plus (and that's conservative) each way...

Just my opinion, of course.

Do you not have to be in the correct fare code for this still?

Thank you for posting Cloudscudder, disappointing to hear you are still waiting to hear from CS!

Yes, you need to be on S or W. If you are K, you can pay the difference up to S then 20k miles per sector for UC (subject to reward availability etc)

I know VS sometimes calls people a few days before travelling to offer upgrades but a call out of the blue whan you have no travel arranged is a bit sus to me (unless you are travelling of course!)

On the contact us section on the VS website I can't see any 0870 numbers listed but it is listed as a VS number on http://www.saynoto0870.com with landline number 01293 473000/150 listed as alternatives.

Hi Tontybear

I was also given an 0844 number to call (but I am not sure I wrote it down correctly) to ask for further information. Like you I felt this call was a we bit sus but thought at first it was a response from VA to answer my problems suffered on my last trip...always looking on the bright side!
