Hi all, I would like some input on what to expect on board and any tips on our upcoming flight. We are taking the LAS MAN flight in upper class and have not flown virgin in at least 15 years (BA flys direct PHX LHR). We usually fly club on BA upstairs and was wondering what the differences are going to be. Thanks

Hi and welcome.

A good place to start would be to have a read through some of the trip reports for your flight. Just select your flight number from the drop down list (it might be worth also reading the VS43/44 LGW-LAS TR's as with MAN only being a new service there might not be that many).

Also, there are a number of similar threads which a quick search should bring up.

For me the biggest difference will probably be the very small UC cabin (only 14 suites) so it really does create a great place to fly in. You will have the bar available to use in flight but won't have a great lounge at MAN (The Escape lounge) which is a very basic, open to anyone willing to pay £20 type offering, certainly no CH.

Of course if you have any specific questions then there are many regular UC travellers on here who will be more than happy to help.

Thanks,
Neil

As Neil states in his reply, the UC cabin on the LGW/MAN aircraft has 14 suites in the nose and is a lovely place to fly. There is a small bar at the rear of the cabin.

If you have used the Clubhouses the Escape lounge is not at all like that - but flying UC you do get to use the dedicated "business" section rather than the side used by people simply paying £20 - having used both, the "busienss" section does have a slightly better selection of food and I find the staff are always friendly and helpful.

Food available for breakfast (served until 1130am) includes hot bacon and sausage sandwiches, bakery items, fruit, cereals and toast with salads and soup available later.

Check out my TR for a typical UC experience on the VS73 from a couple of weeks ago - that will give you an idea. In terms of the LAS flight, it will be exactly the same except with an additional snack service during the flight.

Enjoy....

Hi excelmart & welcome

As my learned V-Flyers have said, do check out the links they suggested.

I've been fortunate to fly UC very ocassionally & it's great!

Enjoy every moment!

Have a brilliant flight & do post a TR as they are well read, I can assure you.

Hi excelmart

Just took my first upper flight on December 1st, if like me you are used to flying the lower classes then you will be blown away with the upper class expeirience! We loved it, my 1st trip report will follow!

Edit: sorry just saw you don't normally fly lower class but BA club, all the same though I'm sure you'll love virgin upper, I can't think of anything that could have been better on my recent flights!

Have a great flight, my only tip would be to enjoy it, oh and don't feel you're putting anyone out eating or sleeping when you want - just about all crew members are only to pleased to help you!
