Hi All - First post on here and looking for some advice regarding a lads jolly that I've been given the unenviable task of organising to Vegas summer 2012.

We are looking to fly mid July and at the moment the economy fares are quite expensive. Around £900 each return according to the Virgin Atlantic website. I've done a little research and the ticket fare code is currently X, which I know is not the cheapest code in economy. So on that point, is it likely to have more tickets issued in the lower fare codes in the coming months? I think it's highly likely that Virgin will have a flight same later this month or Jan, but not sure if they are likely to include tickets for around the 10th July as it is the summer time?

In addition, the current number of people flying is 20. I know I'll have to go through the group booking system, but just wondering if I'm likely to get any sort of additional discount for making a booking of that size or am I wasting my time even asking?

Essentially I'm trying to decide if we should book now and take the hit at £900 per head or is it likely we'll see a reduction in the ticket price in the coming months.

Any advice is much appreciated.

thanks - Dan

With the Olympics starting here in July I don't think prices will go down. A lot of Brits will be wanting to leave the country to avoid it all along with tourists who will want to fly to the UK to watch the games! It's not going to be cheap to travel at all then.

Welcome to v-flyer

Yes there is a good chance of a sale around Xmas/New Year but there is no guarentee that the LAS route will be included and if it is your dates might not.

As Tinkerbelle says the Olympics will have a severe effect on the holiday market and with more people wanting to travel both too and ex UK (some to watch the games and some to get away!) prices are unlikely to be discounted.

I found this on the VS websites. No harm on filling the form in and seeing what they can offer you.

If you need hotels too then why not approach Virgin Holidays to see what packaged they can come up with.

Also I'm sure other travel firms will be interested in your business afterall 20 lads (and depending on how long you spend in LAS) could easily mean a total of £ 40k+

I don't envy you arranging a trip for 20 though !

Hi and Welcome to V-Flyer

I am with Tonty on this one in approaching Virgin Holidays for quote, along with a few other Tour Companies to see the range that might be on offer.

This might get you the best deal under the circumstances (i.e. everyone escaping the small event in London :w :w )

900 is a very expensive economy fare for vegas, you should be able to get the lowest upgradable fare for 850, so the Olympics might well be having a hell of an effect...
