Just logged on and viewed my FC account.

The following text was included in the summary section...

"If your tier membership year ends on or before 31 August 2012, you will require 30 tier points to retain gold membership or 10 tier points to retain silver membership.
If your tier membership year ends on or after 01 September 2012, you will require 40 tier points to retain gold membership or 15 tier points to retain silver membership. "

Did I miss something? I thought those new qualification thresholds had come in this year...

Forgive me if I'm barking up the wrong treee -- again!

Yes, the changes came in to effect in June IIRC, when the changed the tier point earnings for certain fare codes.

A large discussion about it can be found here

Thanks Neil - I do remember that thread. But weren't the changes effective in 2011? The message above says 2012?

If I've totally got the wrong end of the stick, let me know and lock this thread!!!

Mine says the same - it seems the gremlins who proofread the VS Web site content have hit again ... unless they changed the policy and pushed back the renewal raising of TPs?

My understanding was that there was so much backlash that after they tried to rush it through earlier in the year, they had a change of heart and gave everyone a years notice of the changes.

I think my FC year now ends 31st July 2012 and I'll pass the 30 TP in January. If I get a "You have renewed gold" message then, we will know the text above from Concorde is true to form.

Cheers

Martin

PS Slinky - didn't you just renew Au (as per your sad or bad thread). If so was it as you passed 30TP or 40TP. Or do you go through so quickly you can't tell :) :)

My membership ended end-of-September and I did renew by early November, I thought that FC said at that time I needed 40TPs to renew, so am surprised that the 30 TP mark is back until the middle of next year ...

I requalified for Gold on 1st November 2011, which will take me through to 30th November 2012.

But I now have to earn 40 points to retain Gold for the following year

So, is it fair to say that the 2011 implementation of the new thresholds has been "quietly" re-scheduled to 2012?

It could be as simple as a wrongly updated webpage - but the evidence seems to suggest otherwsie...

Oh well:D

Hi,

Quick question, when you reach silver, your points balance doesn't get reset to 0 does it?

Currently have 28 tier points this year but with I've guessing I got to 15 and then earned 13 more tier points after that. It's a shame I don't have any more trips planned to get to Gold!

My understandign is that it does (in terms of tier points).

I.E., at your membership year end, if you have 28 TPs, you will qualify as AG, but you'll need to start again in that membership year for tier points - effectively, you do loose thos e 13 TPs.
