Luggage storage at LAX

Hi Everyone,

I'm traveling to Vegas on Thursday via LAX. On our return trip next Tuesday we will arrive in LAX at noon, however, our VA flight doesn't depart until 9.15pm. We would like to spend the afternoon in LA.

Does anyone know if we can store our luggage at LAX while we are in LA? Our tickets are booked separate so we can't check the bags to LHR.

And when you say 'in LA' where do you mean, LA is a sprawl and the centre of LA itself is something of an understatement. There are lots of places outside of the centre of the sprawl should you want suggestions?

I would love some suggestions. It's for 3 guys, probably looking a nice bar/restaurant for lunch and a spot of people watching.

Also, If anyone flying on Thursday would like a guest invite to the CH please PM me. I will be at T3 around 9am.

My tip would be Santa Monica, not to far from LAX, plenty of bars and people watching opportunities as well as shopping on 3rd Street, I like One Pico at Shutters on the Beach for good dining, but their are plenty of other options.

Alternatively (or a good walk down) Venice Beach.

And, always fun to stop at Encounter for a cocktail while at LAX.

Sorry to hijack thread but I also have a similar question. We are also flying out of LAX on the late flight (Upper) and are hoping to get rid of our bags as early as possible. What is the earliest time we can check in?

If it's any help last time I flew from Vegas to LAX, then LAX to LHR, I had booked the tickets seperatly, but by showing my LAX to LHR flight details to the check in at Vegas they checked my bag all the way through to London. Same goes when I flew Orlando to Miami, Miami to London, they checked it the whole way through.

I think it's only going out to the US that you have to collect the bag at each destination but coming back to the UK you can check it the whole way through if you can show your documentation for all the flights.

THe website used to say you could check-in (and thefore dump nbags) seven hours before departure if you were flying in Upper and on the later flight.

Not sure if it still says that in the new and (supposedly) improved airport guide on the VS site
