Hi everyone,

First time poster, so be gentle! Hope this is the right place.

After months (years really), I saved enough Virgin miles and spend the 100k on two one way upper class flights (Gatwick to Vegas) :)

Just have to wait a few months now - so plenty more reading on this forum to follow.

For now though, my question is does a miles flight get you into the clubhouse?

Welcome yo V-Flyer.

In a word - yes. Entry for you and a guest, who has to be travelling on VS the same day. The guest should enter the CH at the same time as you, or after you have arrived. They should leave when you leave. 8D

Just out of interest, how are you getting back from Vegas?

Thanks Nick

That'll be another first for us. We've tried Vroom a few times but want the real thing this time.

We've also cashed in miles to come back San Fran to Heathrow in Upper. I guess theres a similar lounge there too.

Yes, the SFO lounge is very nice with good views over the airport. It's one of my favourites

Yes the SFO Clubhouse is landside and used to be the pride of the group after LHR. y)

I don't think it is as good as it used to be, but is still very nice. It is shared with VX now. I am sure others have used it recently will be able to comment.

As a recent convert to infrequent UC flying on miles, we really enjoyed the SFO CH - much calmer than the the one at JFK, for example.

Congrats on getting a UC trip on miles to Vegas, BTW. Enjoy your experience and remember the TRs when you get back!

Incidentally, was the right section to post this one?

Yes it was. We (meaning the Mods) would have moved it if it wasn't but it was fine.

Nick, Virgin America moved to T2 in SFO some months ago so they no longer use the Clubhouse

I had some lovely cup cakes in the SFO lounge!

Long time to go yet but try and have a look in the museum at SFO as well as the exhibition cases dotted about the terminal. Most people just seem to walk straight past them.

Hex,

You chose the right way LGW to LAS as the offerings at T2 in LAS are, in my opinion, not the best.

PM me if you need any additional LAS general information.....I am a resident! A sentiment extended to the rest of the V-Flyer forum if you are planning a trip to LAS..................

This should all change later this year if the $1.6bn new T3 is completed. Couple this with a newly refitted fleet of B747s serving LAS from LGW/MAN, we should after quite sometime, enjoy a greater level of service all round.
