Hi and welcome.

Not sure why you thought it was Tinkerbell before as the actual a/c that will be operaing a flight are never published in advanced.

There are a few different a/ c with the same config, so I am guessing that what you are saying is hat your a/c has changed from a LHR config 747, to a LGW 747.If that is the case then currently that is what VS are planning to operate on the route.

There are actually two configs of LGW 747's, some with Nova IFE, some with the slightly better Odyseey IFE, although neither are on demand currently and that won't have changed before your flight (refits ate starting in April).

As I've already said though, there is no way of finding out which exact a/c will operate your flight until the day.

Thanks,
Neil

Hi Neil
Thanks for your reply, I meant to say according to this site Tinker Belle was flying this route for months until 8 January so why is English Rose now being used? I'm disappointed as the entertainment system is not as good

It depends on the loads.

At popular times of the year it makes sense to send a bigger plane like Tinkerbelle to a destination like Barbados but once demand falls off then a smaller plane will suffice.

VS (like any airline) only contracts to get you from A to B. It does not guarentee a particular plane type on a particular route.

If you check the seat maps on your booking online, what config is showing?

Chelsea1592 - you are right Tinkerbell(e) has been operating the VS29/30 for quite sometime before she returned to LHR last week.

Obviously a LHR configured a/c have 44 UC seats (as demand to Barbados needs at certain times of the year) compared to a LGW/MAN a/c which only has 14 UC seats.

Neil is right you won't know until the day which aircraft will operate your flight in March. If the seat map shows currently a Configured 1 aircraft which is one of the LGW/Man based a/c -always remember this can change.

Enjoy your trip to BGI - just booked myself!!
