Online Check In Seat request

Hi, I have just checked in online for Tomorrows flight to EWR and the seat that I requested and has shown for the past couple of weeks has now been changed to a really crap seat right at the back of the plane!

Can anyone explain why all of a sudden they have decided to not give me the seat I requested (and yes I know they are not obligated, so I don't need all the nerdy replies explaining the ins and outs of a cats bum)

Also if anyone has a load check on VS001 tomorrow I will be eternally grateful

It may have been due to a plane change or just the usual IT mess up or the ever vague 'operational reasons;

Were you able to move yourself to another seat?

Are you on the 1 or the 17?

Flightstats.com is showing

VS1 - 7 (or more) UC / 4 PE and 7+ in Y

VS17 - 5 UC/ 4PE / 7+ Y

Has the aircraft changed?

VS001 tomorrow (note flight number Mr T!): J9 C9 D9 I9 Z9 W9 S9 K9 Y9 B9 R9 L9 U9 M9 E9 Q9 X9 N9 O9 and the seat map is showing lots of availability front and back, middle and side. I'd ask to move at check in if you didn't when you did OLCI (did you miss the option to change seats?).

Thanks Tonty, I can move to another seat but the selections are right in the middle of the rows and I need an aisle seat! Its the VS1 I am on. I just thought it was weird as I have never had any problems before and cant understand why they have taken away the seat thats been showing all the time?? I am hoping like you said its an I T cock up? I will keep checking and if no joy I will try to do something at bag drop tomorrow?

Ps the load check figures are all double dutch to me???? LOL

I'm hazarding a guess that the flight is empty and when this happens, the front section of economy is always blocked off for weight balance of the aircraft. The blocked off seats will not be available to swap to at check in but you will be able to move around to empty seats once the aircraft is in the air.
