Note the part that says it will be the 'biggest and longest' in the sky; are we to infer from that it will outmatch the J offerings from the likes of SQ (which I think is a horrid seat anyway) and Cathay...and if so, how have they managed to shoehorn so many seats into the A333 cabin?

Or is this another piece of VS blah-speak, and we'll discover they are comparing the new UCDS with J class products of quite a while back, or only from certain 'selected' carriers....

The seats can't be that much bigger. Given the layout, there isn't physical space for a much bigger seat. I've used the representational layout on virginatlantic.com to create a to-scale version on V-Flyer, and what that tells me is they clearly need to increase the angle of the herringbone a bit to make it fit 4-abreast, but there's not a whole lot of extra room in that A section to lengthen the suites much. I'm also not sure how they'd be able to widen those seats, given the number they are putting in the cabin.

CX have an 82" fully flat bed, with an extra extension which increases the width by another 6.5" too. All in business class, not first.

So, given this is a "revamp" (I'm guessing a reposition of the top and tail elements of the suite, to extend...?) I'm looking forward to seeing how that claim works in an aircraft that's squeezed 4 seats in the width that other airlines with exactly the same layout (i.e.: AC) can only fit 3...

Interestingly, SQ's First Suites on the A380 only offer a bed which is 27" x 78" as it's stand-alone (theoretically). So, their J cabin has a wider bed mode.

If this isn't the usual VS marketing BS (which, sadly, I believe it to be) it'll be a hell of a product if they can beat the 34" width of SQ's J and 82" length of CX's...

Mmmm...looking at this I'm thinking how glad I am that they haven't decided to revamp UCS on the LGW fleet.

I have an idea for the extra space in the A cabin - you could put a massage station there, wouldn't that be cool?

Just looked at that link again and it mentions the "largest" not the "biggest & longest", has it been "amended"...

IMHO, as always, a lot of noise from VS over what is likely to turn out to be a new mattress and seat covering, a redesigned reading light/ new JAM system and some purple underseat mood lighting/ boob glass holder..
Carefully planned media drip feeding building up to a huge fanfare and underwhelming change to current product..I'm not holding my breath for anything decidely different, although some key improvements will be greatly received.
