Hi!

I've decided to upgrade myself from Y to PE, I got my confirmation upgrade through from VA after I paid the requested fee to change, Now im flying PE does this give me access to the clubhouse at LGW? Also does anybody know if my hand luggage limit increases from 1 bag to 2?

Also when we land am I right in saying that it's usually upper class and PE that get let off the plane before they release the economy section?

So my question about flying PE from LHR will not entitle me to the club house

No (unless you are Au).

The only ways into the Clubhouse are:

1. As a passenger or guest of a passenger in Upper Class
2. As a passenger or guest of VS Gold Card holder
3. As a passenger or appropriate tiered frequent flyer in selected VS partner airlines
4. As a customer of Virgin Holidays who has paid for access (limited availability)

So PE won't get you access to the Clubhouse, no. However, depending on the day you fly, you might find a fellow V-Flyer that can 'guest' you in. Check out the itinerary calendar (or the mini-calendar below if your flight is in the next 3 months). If you find someone flying on the same day from the same airport, and their itinerary post has a [L] at the end of it, you may be able to ask them nicely to be their guest.

There is an informal guest etiquette that has developed on V-Flyer over the years;

a) Obviously don't expect it. The circumstances of the person offering the invitation may change - they're just another passenger like you after all.
b) You should fit in with the plans of the person offering the invitation. This may mean getting to the airport a little earlier than you planned so you can meet in the departure hall. It is easier for everyone if you enter the lounge together.
c) You shouldn't feel obligated to spend time with your hosts / guests. This is an invitation to access the lounge, not a swingers party!
d) You don't have to be on the same flight as your hosts, nor do you have to leave when they leave. You do need to be travelling on a VS flight the same day. So enjoy!

Unless you are a member of the Virgin golf club of course when they let you swig away as much as you want!

How do you post in the itinerary calender please, can't help anyone into the club house on the upcoming New York flight but may be able to at a later date.

Just go in to the itinerary forum and create a new post by filling in the details of your flight, just like creating a post in any other forum on the site. It will then automatically appear in the calendar.

You can on occasions pay GBP60 to gain access.
Unless you are travelling UC I do not think you can gain access just by being elite in a partner airline.

I may be totally wrong, but I thought Singapore Airlines elites can go in the Clubhouse. There may be other arrangements too. I'm sure someone with first hand experience will be along to confirm/deny this. ;-)

This has been tightened up hasn't it, so only those in suites can use the CH when flying on SQ, and clubhouse access is no longer listed as a benefit on any Kris Flyer elite tiers.
