Does anybody have any tips or experiences on checking in online whilst in the USA. In the UK its very simple and easy. The USA is potentially the same except for the last 3 trips, over 3 years, on various devices, i.e Mobile, own laptop, Hotel/Complex computers, its never worked. In reality it shouldn't be a problem, but we all know with the non selectability of the LGW/MAN fleet's PE seats, it becomes a concern. Virgin CS trot out the check in online and there will be no problem, lets hope not. Flying LGW - MCO 30th Sept returning MCO - LGW 13th Oct. Group of 4 who wish to travel upstairs. Please help

Not had a problem myself. Don't forget to check the seat map via MMB a few days before OLCI as it might be available.

I experienced a few problems maybe 3-4 years back, but has been fine ever since, thats on Ipad and laptop. Do check the seat map before OLCI opens though as I managed to nab the seats I wanted last week, it was on there a good 6 hours before.

One small issue last year, which was solved by trying again an hour later, but in over 6 years of traveling on VS to the US, we have never any issues with OLCI in the US.

I'm sure the OP doesn't want to hear it, but I've always been successful doing OLCI in the US too, Will the uncertainty over PE seat numbers perhaps be a little clearer by his Sep/Oct travel dates?

Like other v-flyers [above], I have also had no problems doing OLCI when in the USA. I always do OLCI for my return flight to the UK & never print a boarding pass - have never had a problem when I turn up at the airport / Downtown Disney check-in. For once, the VS IT Gremlins seem to be at rest.

Just done OLCI for our flight home VS074 from MCO tomorrow. Previously all OLCI in the US has gone perfectly.

All went well this time but was unable to select seats. We are flying PE and so the seat map has always been unavailable for the return leg. At OLCI I presumed it would become available but it did not. We were allocated 72 & 73 A & C in the bubble, seq 1-4 y) so happy enough :)

We have flights in PE booked for August (again we have selected seats on the A330 outbound but not on the 747 return) does anyone know if it will be the norm to not be able to select seats where the PE seat map has previously been unavailable?

Thanks.

Ali.

I think it just depends on the loads. If the cabin is full then the system will just allocate seats to ensure as many families/groups are sat together as possible. With you travelling back right at the end of the Easter holidays, I imagine they let the system allocate seats as the flights are likely to be busy.

If the flight isn't full then the seat map should be available.
