I was looking to see if I could book an UC seat on the VS3 on 9 May, but it is unavailable in all UC buckets, which seems very unlikely. And the seat map has all seats available.

Any ideas/possible explanations? ?| All help gratefully received!

Just because there are no seats available and yet the seat map shows the opposite simply means that no-one has selected seats. I was once on a flight where I was the only one with a seat selected until about a week before the flight.

Another explanation may be that at the time you were looking at it so was everyone else given the new UC seats. That would have locked the page for a time. I remember one Sunday looking for a UC fare and nothing was available but on Monday it was wide open

Thanks for the reply honey lamb. :)

I'm not convinced either of those applies -- on a day which otherwise looks not too busy, it would seem incredible to me that the flight would be J0 this far out AND have absolutely no UC seats selected whatsoever. Also, it has been unavailable for a while, so I don't think it is just that searches are affecting the inventory displayed.

Maybe someone has chartered the entire cabin (can you even do that?)?
