Hi guys, not long to our GLA-MCO flight in June. I call VS today to enquire about extra leg room seats (not exit row seats) to be told they are £20 P/P. I believe we are on a config 1 or 2 747 unless we get Barbarella on config 5 in economy. Anyone know where these seats at £20 are and what config they are 2-4-2 etc. cheers

Apart from a couple of rows at the back of the config 2s, all the extra legroom seats are 3-4-3 formation.

You only get an extra 3 inches legroom (34" instead of 31") so it's not overly generous. If you really want legroom go for an exit row (though you'll sacrifice a bit of seat width and they come with the usual rules about being physically able to open the doors etc).

In all fairness, I actually thought that the extra 3 inches did make a lot of difference (ok, bring on the childish sniggers...). Well worth the 20 quid IMHO, although there are no options to preselect (that I've found) so you could end up in a 2,3, or 4 arrangement - wasn't ideal for us being in the 2x2 seats at the back, but nonetheless, the extra room was definitely noticeable.

We had the extra leg room seats going to SFO and we thought it was worth it, would definitely do it again. An added bonus was we were at the window sitting in the 3 with no one next to us, so two of us had 3 seats to ourselves y)
