Hi There,
I am due to fly out to Cuba on 31 May 2012 (VS63) and upgraded to PE hoping the I would be on one of the upgraded planes. From reading posts on this forum it looks very unlikely that I will be on a upgraded plane and instead I most likely be on one of the old tired 747 which from what I have been reading is not very good in PE.

What are my chances I will be on a upgared plane?

I wouldn't be too dissappointed if you end up on the 747, especially if you can snag a seat in the bubble when it comes to OLCI. These are prized over and above the new aircraft. Other than a clockwork IFE system (take your own entertainment) the ambience in the cabin far exceeds the normal-ness of the new 330's.

O.k. its not slippy purple leather and you can't put your fingerprints onto the touchc=screen, but if you are fortunate not to have a faulty seat in front reclining onto your knees, the "older" PE seats are quite comfy, some say more than the new ones.

Others may well be able to update on which plane it could be but like always it will be subject to change uptill boarding...

Thanks Northernhenry for the update, would any seat in the buble be ok, or are there some you should avoid.

Have a look here..

the-toolbox/seat-maps

ISTBC but I think they tend to be pretty good generally (Someone got it right when they designed this cabin :D ). I think exit row (leg room, but watch the bump in the door), immediately forward of exit row or last row (guilt free recline).

If on your own go for a window seat as there's a lot of useful storage and shelf space between you and the window.

I'm with NH on this one. Take a book and an iPod and revel in the private cabin ambience....
