Well as my previous post, booked on tomorrows 44, been checking MMB religiously and nope, the seat map never opened! Just completed OLCI and it auto assigned me seat 83H. When you select to change seat it just came up with a message about being no other seats available :(!

It clearly states on the VS website about when OLCI opens you will be able to choose your seat during the refurbs!

I'm fuming at this, I've spent almost 1800 on these flights and when reading reviews on the set they've given me it gets nothing but poor feedback. To hear that the Y passengers behind the curtain are getting more legroom than those in the PE cabin downstairs is an absolute joke. I sense a full blown argument when I turn up to drop my bags off tomorrow!

Sorry to hear you're upset but I'm a bit confused - none of the LGW 744 seat plans I've seen mention a row 83.

If you mean 82H, IMHO that's not a bad seat - there are only 2 rows of PE downstairs so it feels like quite an exclusive cabin. True, many on here prefer the bubble but that's down to personal preference.

As for legroom, PE seats are all 38" seat pitch AFAIK - the only economy seats with more are in the exit rows.

At the end of the day, you've paid for a seat on the flight, not a specific seat. You can always try asking to change when you get to the airport but VS are under no obligation to comply.

This is very frustrating and annoying but I agree with Gumshoe - try to get to the airport early and take a calm approach to getting your seats changed. I think you have more chance getting them changed that way.

Good luck, enjoy your flight and holiday :)

I would agree with the previous posters too.... Being nice tends to get you a lot further too: if the flight happens to be pretty full, they need to upgrade someone and "nice, reasonable" you are infront of them looking to move anyway...

Good luck.

sorry to throw oil on the fire and disagree with gumshoe but the legroom downstairs never felt as much as the bubble.

maybe its time to carry a tape measure on a flight ??

hope you get to change ok

I do hope you get this sorted out but this full blow argument you sense probably won't get you anywhere. Personally I would be more likely to go out of my way and help the person who has a problem, that has politely put it across to me and remained calm, than somebody who has shouted and balled at me.
Just a little tip as it's something to bear in mind when you have a problem.
All the best.

I can understand what you are saying, but even if you had been able to allocate seats in advance, then nothing is set in stone and Virgin always reserve the right to change seats/re-allocate them, so they aren't doing anything wrong.

Don't forget however they don't allocate rows 71 and 75 until airport check in, so you still have the chance to change to those.

I share your frustration and lets be honest, downstairs on the current config is no where near the bubble. I would certainly follow the advice above and get to the airport early. Hope you enjoyed Vegas.

Well alls well that ends well!

Just checked in @ LAS, explained to the check in agent that I wasn't happy with the seat it had allocated to me at OLCI. She banged a few keys on the computer and said there was 1 seat left on the upper deck but all other seats had been allocated automatically. She gave me seat 76H!

'Happy V-flyer' :)
