Don't know what happened to the VS301, but it had an interesting effect on the VS017 yesterday... a previously full-ish flight ended up taking off with a total of 81 passengers! (According to our FSM the VS301 feeds a lot of pax into the VS17 and its cancellation caused the extra space). Imagine an A346 with just 81 passengers...Premium had just 8 people in it. Everyone in economy had 4 seats to sleep on. The flight time was reduced by an hour (though I think that was courtesy of the tailwind) so we ended up landing at 10:45pm not 11:40pm, and security/bags were over with in under 10 mins! I'll try and post a TR soon... schedule is a bit jam-packed.
