Hello,

I am returning from Miami on June 26th. On my reservation it states A346. On all of the flights up until that date, it also states A346.

However statistics shows hat 80% of the flights on VS06 are operated by a 747!

Anyone who might shed some light on when final aircraft type is assigned, so one can go in and re-assign seats.

Thanks,

Jensenma...

It sometimes happens in the summer with an equipment change to A346 from the 747. I believe a 747 has mostly operated the LHR-MIA route over this winter but don't the v-flyer stats only show the last three months data? (mods confirm).

I'm flying out on the 23rd July and when I did my seat requests, there were on a 747.

Yes, you are correct. The star only show 3 months of data.

The MIA flight is operated by a 346 on three days of the week (I think Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and by a 747 over the weekend but I think changes for the summer

Different metal on different days at the mo...
We flew out LHR-MIA on Sunday 6th May 340-600 (Bubbles)
Back MIA-LHR 16th May 747 (Cosmic Girl)
I think they are using the 747 most days.
Enjoy

I dont think this is correct.
I am on a 346 (6/7K) going out in early July and coming back at the end of the third week on a 744 (12A/K).
I believe there are different AC types on the various days.

Both times I've flown to MIA I've had a 747 on the way out and an A340-600 on the way back, and of those four flights two had the aircraft changed in the run-up to the flight - they seem to chop and change MIA a lot.

Looks like the 747 out/A340 back pattern will continue on my PE trip to LAX next week as well - Assuming I will see G-VFAB lined up at the gate as it has been for >50% of my VS flights in the past!

Statistically speaking, G-VWOW is currently doing 22% of the VS5/6 runs and considering that she has been on my last 4x UC trips I'm certain she will be stalking me.

Is that correct VB? Historically in the summer to MIA the 346 has been used and not the 744 partly because the cruise season is not the height of the summer.

Indeed... I think the summer is low season for MIA, hence the mad sale fare this year.

Both this year and last year they have used both 747 and 346 through the summer for the LHR/MIA route. Which AC depends on which day you fly.
When I booked for this July, the MMB showed 747 both ways (departing on a Friday each way).
Some months later the outbound changed to 346, but return is still showing 747.
What I am not sure of is if there is a definate pattern - certain days for each AC type.
